Özet

ABSTRACT This descriptive study, which was conducted to determine the school culture perception of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, was carried out with 624 students who volunteered to participate in the study and studying in the second, third and fourth grades of the Department of Midwifery and Nursing and Faculty of Health Sciences of Çukurova University. In the study, 208 first-year students were not included in the sample in accordance with the literature, considering that they did not spend enough time to adapt to the university life and faculty they just started. In the study, the Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher and Kantek et al. The "School Culture Scale", which was developed by a 4-point Likert-style scale in 2010, was used. All necessary permissions and ethics committee approval were obtained for the research. Verbal consent was obtained from the participants. SPSS 24.0 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the data in the study. Number and percentage, average, standard deviation, Independent Sample T-Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to evaluate the data. Significance levels were taken as 0.05 in all tests. 63.5% of the students participating in the study study in the nursing department and 36.5% in the midwifery department. The average age of the participants was 20.82±1.50 years, and 78.5% of them were Anatolian high school graduates. In the study, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was found to be 0.96 in the total scale and 0.75 and above in the sub-dimensions, and the results were found to be highly reliable. As a result of this study, it was concluded that the school culture perceptions of the students were affected by the department they studied, the class, whether they were employed or not. The school culture perceptions of the students participating in this study were found to be high. Key Words: Organization, culture, school culture
