Melon (Cucumis melo L.) is an important vegetable crop in Turkey with 1.749 million ton of production. Local genotypes are mainly used in production which belongs to var. inodorus. A total of 78 melon accessions were collected from Eastern and Central Anatolia regions which have valuable melon genetic resources. These accessions were characterized for morphological characteristics according to the UPOV melon descriptor list for 68 characters (3 seedlings, 3 plants, 9 leafs, 6 flowers, 42 fruits and 5 seeds) and were analyzed by principle coordinate analysis (PCoA). Twenty quantitative characters (3 seedlings, 3 plants, 3 leafs, 2 flowers, and 9 fruits) were also measured and subjected to principle component analysis (PCA). The results revealed that the Turkish melon accessions have quite diversity for all the traits examined except green color of cotyledon, attitude of petiole and color of petals.
