Congestion occurring in the input and output queues of broadcast-based multiprocessor architectures can severely limit their overall performance. In this paper, we propose a new congestion control algorithm to improve the performance of the 2D SOME-Bus multiprocessor architecture. The algorithm uses input, output and hybrid parameters to detect congestion. Compared with the case where the algorithm is not applied, the proposed algorithm is able to decrease the average network response time by 41.59% to 48.35% and average channel waiting time by 14.06% to 22.92%.
