In the past two decade technology has affected economy and became as a core element of the new knowledge-based society. Especially Information and Communication Technology became the key for high growth rates and increasing welfare. Besides the usage of ICT differ for every sector in the economy. Many studies discussed the impact of ICT on economy and found clear relations between the ICT and some key economic variables such as growth, welfare and productivity. Also these studies investigated effect on industrial and service sector and emphasized the importance of ICT for the sectors. However, only few of the literature studied about the usage or the impact of the ICT for agricultural sector. Although ICT has a significant role in agriculture as well as in economic life, key issues are rarely discussed by the literature. In this decade the usage of ICT in agricultural sector increased rapidly and this rise changes the nature of the sector. For this reason the aim of this study is to discuss the future of the agricultural sector with a technological view. Therefore key issues are determined by using the country examples. This study gave a brief knowledge about the benefits of ICT for agricultural sector and tests a model for selected OECD countries by using panel data analysing techniques. These results will help to policy makers to review their agricultural policies.
