Proje Özeti

The discard monitoring program for the Black Sea achieved a total of 464 observations across various fishing gear and fleet segments, surpassing the planned 423 observations, resulting in a coverage rate of 110% (Hata! Başvuru kaynağı bulunamadı.). This high achievement reflects the program’s success in meeting and exceeding its goals for observation. Polivalent vessels (P10) exceeded their planned observations, completing 80 trips compared to the 60 planned, achieving a coverage rate of 133%. Purse seiners (S04) successfully met their target with 20 observations. For beam trawlers (T02), 129 out of 142 planned observations were achieved, yielding a coverage rate of 91%. Midwater trawlers (T07) recorded 60 observations compared to a planned 82, achieving a 73% coverage, while T08 completed 35 observations without a defined target, highlighting its focus on exploratory monitoring. Bottom trawlers (T11 and T12) showed strong performance, with T11 exceeding its planned 139 observations by completing 175 trips (126% coverage). T12 conducted 26 observations, despite not having a defined target. Additional observations included 22 focused on selectivity studies, surpassing the planned 20 with 110% coverage. Furthermore, 737 surveys were carried out under the decarbonization study, alongside 40 observations for PAL device testing.

The overall success of the program emphasizes its thorough implementation and provides a strong foundation for future monitoring and improvement efforts in the Black Sea fisheries.
