Özet:

A prototype waterjet cutting system which uses the principle of double acting, multi-layer intensifier has been developed at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Çukurova recently. This study mainly concerns modeling the intensifier of the waterjet cutting system and the possibility of using new materials for the intensifier. Firstly, since the material selection is the key issue in optimal design of industrial products, the use of new materials is investigated for the most economic waterjet intensifier. Then, system is modeled as mathematically to obtain optimum design parameters. Also, with the parametric design, the time required to change the system design for the changes in parameters is decreased. Keywords: High-pressure Intensifier, Waterjet Cutting, Materials Selection, Mathematical Modeling, Parametric Modeling.
